Job description

The Data Analyst within the CoreLabs department at UM6P will play a vital role in extracting, analyzing, and interpreting data to support key research and operational initiatives. Reporting to the Head of Department, this position will leverage advanced analytical tools and techniques to deliver actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making. The Data Analyst will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure data quality, optimize data platforms, and contribute to the continuous improvement of CoreLabs projects and processes. This role demands strong technical expertise, creativity, and a proactive, collaborative approach.

Main responsabilities

Strategy and Planning

  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the CoreLabs data analysis roadmap, supporting implementation through an agile approach.
  • Participate in benchmarking activities to ensure the application of best practices in data analysis and reporting.
  • Support the department by providing data-driven insights that inform strategic and operational decisions.

Governance Development and Management

  • Assist in defining data governance frameworks, including data collection protocols, data quality standards, and clear roles and responsibilities for data management within CoreLabs.
  • Support the documentation and organization of CoreLabs data assets and analytical processes.
  • Help maintain and update CoreLabs data documentation to ensure proper data access and compliance.
  • Monitor data governance procedures to ensure data integrity and support continuous improvement.

Data Analysis and Management

  • Collect, process, and analyze data to generate actionable insights for decision-making across CoreLabs projects and initiatives.
  • Conduct ongoing data monitoring and reporting, identifying trends, deviations, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and deliver clear data visualizations and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Ensure data quality and consistency through rigorous validation and follow-up.

Innovation and Technical Advancement

  • Stay up to date with the latest analytical tools and technologies to enhance CoreLabs data capabilities.
  • Propose and implement new methods or tools for data analysis and visualization.
  • Contribute to the development of digital solutions that support the departments data-driven activities.

Collaboration and Teamwork

  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to understand data needs and deliver relevant insights.
  • Share knowledge and best practices in data analysis to foster a collaborative and data-informed culture within CoreLabs.

Profile requirement

  • Masters degree in a scientific or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a data analysis or related role, preferably within a research team or industry setting.
  • Demonstrated strong competencies in data analysis and data visualization.
  • Solid experience with analytical and data management tools (such as MS Office, data visualization, and management software).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • High attention to detail, with an understanding of institutional objectives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and effective time management.
