HEAD SCIENTIST IN LITHIUM-ION BATTERIES RESEARCH, PROTOTYPING AND VALIDATING

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Head Scientist in lithium-ion batteries research, prototyping, and validating to lead a development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and testing of advanced lithium-ion battery prototypes for various applications. The Head Scientist will also be responsible for providing technical guidance and direction to the team, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and keeping up with industry trends and developments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement research and development plans to meet project goals and objectives.

• Lead a team of scientists and engineers in the design, development, and testing of advanced lithium-ion battery prototypes.

• Oversee the evaluation of new materials, components, and technologies for use in lithium-ion batteries.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, product development, and marketing, to ensure successful commercialization of new products.

• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in lithium-ion battery technology.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including health and safety protocols.

Profile recherché

PROFIL :

The applicants must:

hold a PhD in electrochemistry, synthesis, materials science or other relevant related field.

Experience with electrochemical characterization of Li-Ion battery electrodes, or similar chemistries, is considered advantageous. This includes, but is not limited to, cyclic voltammetry, Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and galvanostatic cycling.

Experience with material characterization techniques like SEM/EDS, TEM, XRD, Raman and BET will also be highly considered. Since cross disciplinary work is essential for the success of this project, it is considered positive if the candidate can demonstrate experience in similar work environments.

Extensive experience in business planning especially on establishment of international joint venture collaborations and companies

SKILLS and QUALITIES

  • PhD in chemistry materials and electrochemistry, with a strong expertise and experience in phosphate industry, electrochemistry and characterization of advanced materials for lithium-ion batteries.
  • Excellent communication in English language.
  • Good publication and patents track record in peer-reviewed journals.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.
  • Excellent networking ability and organizational skills.
  • Experience in co-supervision and coordination of masters and PhD level students
  • Proven ability of working with team members and PhD students to help build their research skills and knowledge and to support and guide their professional development.
  • Collaborate in writing proposals to secure funding from governmental and industrial sources.
  • Industry experience in lithium-ion batteries is mandatory
  • Teaching experience is preferred.
  • PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in research and development of lithium-ion batteries.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of scientists and engineers.
  • Strong understanding of battery chemistry, materials, and electrochemistry.
  • Industry Experience with battery prototyping and testing equipment and methods.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
