The Research Equipment Management Office, attached to the Direction of Research and Innovation (DRI), has as a mission the upkeep and good functioning of the university research equipment and the support of research infrastructures to optimize the cost and efficiency of the operation.

The Research Equipment Management platform is hiring a metrology & instrumentation technician to maintain the safe operations and longevity of research equipment. The position's main duties will include:

  • Organize and Keep up to date the documentation and inventories of the research equipment
  • Ensure the first response line to any equipment dysfunction and take necessary actions
  • Perform calibrations, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, small repairs, and qualification of the research equipment
  • Coordinate and supervise all the installations and maintenance activities executed by the service providers
  • Timely update the maintenance record with all details of work carried out
  • Ensures technical issues are identified, recorded, and the repair actions are validated
  • Check the necessary stock levels of spare parts
  • Communicate closely with the lab users and coordinate all technical activities on the instruments
  • Participate in the platform activities and ongoing project
  • Participate in the preparation of the technical and scientific documents related to the research infrastructures
  • Comply with pre-established maintenance methods, procedures and operating modes.
  • Adhere to all relevant organizational and departmental policies, processes, and instructions
  • Adhere to all relevant health, safety, security, and environmental procedures

Qualifications

BTS, DUT or master’s degree in metrology and instrumentation

  • Minimum 5 years of technical experience (academic or industrial) in an analytical laboratory or R&D field in analytical chemistry or applied physics
  • Experience at least in one of the following fields: spectroscopy, chromatography, microscopy, imaging, photonics and biotechnology
  • Good technical knowledge in engineering sciences
  • Flexibility and ability to work as part of a team and manage challenging deadlines
  • Ability to respond flexibly & positively to organizational changes
  • Motivated, autonomous, and organized
  • Good interpersonal skills in customer service
  • Good writing and communication skills in French
