JOB DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES:

Reporting to the F&B Director, the Mixologist Instructor is responsible for assisting in the implementation of the curriculum for our students, introducing them to the world of the Bar, its essentials and the standards and procedures that regulate it.

In addition to training them in the skills needed to prepare and create balanced cocktails and how best to serve all types of drinks.

The Mixologist instructor is accountable for the achievement of the highest standards within the preparation of classic and signature cocktails, meeting the quality and expectations of the industry.

The scope of this mission includes:

  • Develops course content in collaboration with the F&B Director based on practical training
  • Runs the Beverage side of the school F&B operations
  • Assists in setting-up all F&B operations of the school based on standard requirements and local specificities
  • Provides regular, constructive student feedback both through Front of House Manager and directly to students
  • Models and demands positive work ethic in day to day activities as a role model for our trainees.
  • Provides regular reporting to the F&B Director
  • Works towards creating an environment that allows theory and practice to come together.
  • Contributes to the morale of the school by maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues
  • Contributes in conveying the philosophy of “Savoir-être et Savoir-vivre” in all point of operations.
  • Performs any additional duties as directed by the F&B Director

Profile recherché

QUALIFICATIONS AND APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Pre-requisites:

  • Higher degree or full professional qualification in the required technical field
  • Good level of English proficiency
  • Thorough knowledge of hospitality operations
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience
  • International experience (or international company experience) in the hospitality industry
  • Strong organizational skills

Preferred skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of beverages:
  • Alcoholic beverages (spirits, wines, beers)
  • Non alcoholic beverages (water, fruit juice and soft drinks...)
  • Excellent command of cocktail preparation techniques
  • A very creative person
  • Capacity to demonstrate professionalism and act as an example for the students
  • Proven track record in a hospitality school or hotel of similar standard in similar capacity
  • Ability to adhere to SHBM & UM6P’s values
  • Positive attitude and an open-minded approach to cultural diversity.
