MSN/UM6P is looking for a motivated candidate to design ternary aqueous-based electrolyte for energy storage devices operating on a wide range of temperatures. This position is a fixed-term role with a duration of 1 year, which will ideally start in June 2023.

Job Description

The successful candidate will carty out duties to the highest standard and will:

  • Undertake original research on a unique strategy to design ternary aqueous-based electrolyte for energy storage devices operating on a wide range of temperatures.
  • Investigate experimentally the solid-liquid phase diagram of each targeted electrolyte using DSC.
  • Thanks to the thermal analysis, select the appropriate formulations to be further analyzed in term of their thermal and transport properties along with their thermal and electrochemical stabilities.
  • Design electrochemical devices and investigate then the electrochemical performances of selected electrolytes (CV, GCPL, EIS, etc.) as a function of the temperature.

Candidate PROFILE

  • An engineering or a master degree in materials science, or physical-chemistry or related subject.
  • An internship in material science, or electrochemistry or related subject
  • Knowledge on thermodynamics and fluid phase equilibrium of materials
  • Knowledge on electrochemistry

Associated Skills

  • Excellent writing and oral communications skills both in English and French languages.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Strong desire to learn and to develop new concepts.
