The Research Assistant will support the Energy4Water (E4W) Project at UM6P, which focuses on developing innovative energy-based solutions for sustainable water harvesting and production. The role is suited for early-career researchers passionate about renewable energy and water systems. Responsibilities include contributing to experimental and modeling activities related to energy-efficient sorption and condensation technologies, and assisting in the development of systems powered by solar and alternative energy sources.

The position also involves working closely with academic, industry, and government partners to promote the application and accessibility of research outcomes, supporting broader efforts toward sustainable water supply and the green economy transition.

E4W is committed to advancing the exploration and deployment of green energy and water resources through the development of tangible, scalable models and innovative solutions. By translating research into practical applications, the project seeks to drive impactful contributions to sustainable development and resource resilience.

Key duties:

Implementing studies for techniques of water production such as atmospheric water harvesting and VCC devices.

Conducting tests and materials characterization for the adsorbents.
Participating in field testing to validate the efficiency and scalability of developed prototypes.
Explore energy innovations from solar and other thermoelectric technologies to power water harvesting systems sustainably.
Establish links and research and development in other scopes such as green hydrogen technologies and materials developments.

Profile recherché

Candidate profile:

  • Holds an Engineering or Masters degree in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated research experience, preferably in water-related technologies or sustainability projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in both French and English.
  • Solid analytical and applied research capabilities, with a results-driven approach.
  • Proven track record of involvement in initiatives related to water harvesting or sustainable water supply solutions.
