Job description:

African Sustainable Agriculture Research Institute (ASARI) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) is seeking applications for a determinated contract of 12 Months (Can be reconducted for 1 additionnal year) , as Research Engineer in the field of Environmental Chemistry.

Candidates should hold a master’s degree (Bac +5) or a PhD in Environmental chemistry/Analytical Chemistry (or equivalent) with an extensive professional experience in liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). The successful candidate must have the ability to provide contract development and analysis services for researchers across the university and externally.

Key duties:

Successful candidate is expected to:

  • Have a strong experience in analytical chemistry and high-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry.
  • Develop, validate, and document analytical methods and operating procedures according to specific targeted molecules.
  • Provide original analytical design and experimental work for the ongoing scientific projects.
  • Conduct routine performance qualification and maintenance of chromatography.
  • Perform data analysis and publish the results of personal and sponsored research in international journals refereed by his/her peers.
  • Strong French and English communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.

Profile recherché

Criteria of the candidate:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Environmental chemistry (or equivalent) from a recognized University.
  • Strong experience in analytical chemistry and LC-MS/MS.
  • Proven analytical and chromatographic background in a method development/validation role.
  • Experience in Gaz Chromatography (GC) will be given preference.
  • Experience in conducting contract development and analysis services.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of related laboratory work experience in a contract research or industrial company.
  • Experience with new protocols, design and troubleshooting experiments and interpretation of data.
  • High publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Positive attitude in the workplace.
