Title of the position: Senior Research Professional
Duration: Fixed term of 6 months, with a possibility of renewal.
Position description and mission: Under the direction of the Program Lead, the research professional will be responsible for research that studies the optimal mode to deliver biologicals (microorganisms, microbial signals) so they make contact with crop plants, in the context of developing suitable crop inoculants for African smallholder farmers.
Principal duties:
- Evaluate, interpret and synthesize experimental results from scientific literature;
- Conceive and design experimental approaches to study the scientific problem from the perspective of biological(s) that have potentially high value or high impact in the African context;
- Select analytical methods that are suitable for measuring the biological material and/or the delivery mechanism;
- Management and analysis of experimental data;
- Contribute to writing of research reports and communicating the scientific results for conferences and scientific publications
Profile recherché
Desired profile:
The selected candidate should have:
- Masters degree (+5/6) in Agronomy, Applied Microbiology, Soil Science or equivalent training.
- Previous research experience required.
- Good English communication skills (reading/ writing / oral)
