Job Description:
As part of the CRSA's directives, you will be responsible, as a senior instrumentation engineer, for the design, implementation, and monitoring of measurement and control systems. You will be involved in all technical phases, from defining needs to field equipment installation. You will also collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of researchers, academic staff, and students, providing technical and analytical support for processing and interpreting experimental data. Your role will combine technical expertise, innovation in instrumentation, and support for scientific projects.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Design and Management of Instrumentation Systems
- Develop and integrate complex instrumentation solutions tailored to research project needs.
- Oversee the installation, calibration, and maintenance of high-precision scientific equipment.
- Optimize instrument performance to ensure data quality and reliability.
- Establish standardized protocols for the use and management of instruments.
2. Data Analysis and Processing
- Develop and implement advanced data processing methods.
- Create automated pipelines for experimental data processing.
- Collaborate with teams to interpret results and highlight data in scientific publications.
3. Support for Research Teams and Students
- Provide technical and methodological support to researchers and doctoral students in using equipment and in-situ data.
- Train and mentor students (masters and doctoral level) in data acquisition and processing methods.
- Participate in supervising practical work and in-situ experiments.
4. Contribution to Scientific Research and Innovation
- Assist in drafting technical specifications for new instrumentation projects.
- Manage relationships with suppliers and industrial partners for purchasing or developing instrumentation solutions.
- Propose innovative solutions to meet new experimental needs or optimize existing processes.
- Actively participate in collaborative projects with researchers, including authoring and publishing scientific articles.
- Present technical and scientific results at meetings, seminars, or conferences.
- Identify emerging trends in instrumentation and data science to anticipate the lab's future needs.
Profile recherché
Required Skills:
Technical
- Proficiency in advanced instrumentation systems (meteorological systems, flux measurement systems, atmospheric measurements, etc.).
- Strong skills in data processing and numerical analysis (Matlab, R, Python, or equivalent).
- Knowledge of modern approaches for scientific data analysis.
- Sound understanding of calibration, validation, and data quality assurance concepts.
Personal Qualities:
- Rigor, autonomy, and ability to manage complex projects.
- Excellent ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications:
- Engineering degree or Ph.D. in physics or relevant fields
- Proven professional experience (minimum 5 to 8 years) in technical and scientific environments, ideally in research or innovation projects.
