This is your chance to join a leading company in the Logistics sector, based in Casablanca, Morocco. As our new Forwarding Manager import / export / customs clearance, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods across international borders. The primary objective of this role is to oversee all aspects of the import, export, and customs clearance process, ensuring on-time delivery of goods while maintaining the highest standards of compliance. You will work closely with various stakeholders – clients, carriers, customs authorities, and internal teams – to streamline procedures, resolve any arising issues promptly, and identify opportunities for continuous process improvement. A critical aspect of your role is to optimize logistics and minimize costs while maintaining efficiency and customer satisfaction. You will also contribute to building strong relationships with key partners, fostering collaboration and mutual success. Ultimately, your success will be measured by the efficiency of our operations, our customer satisfaction rates, and the company’s overall profitability in the forwarding sector.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will be multifaceted and demanding, encompassing the following key tasks:

  • Managing all aspects of import and export operations, including documentation, scheduling, and tracking
  • Ensuring seamless customs clearance, complying with all relevant regulations and procedures
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, carriers, and other stakeholders
  • Negotiating rates and contracts with various service providers to optimize costs
  • Monitoring shipments and proactively addressing any potential delays or issues
  • Preparing and analyzing reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions
  • Staying updated on all industry regulations and best practices in the forwarding sector
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of new strategies to enhance operational efficiency and customer service

You will also be expected to provide support to your team and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.

Profile recherché

The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background. A Master’s degree or PhD in Logistics / Transportation professions is required. A proven academic record reflecting a high level of analytical and problem-solving skills is highly desirable. Candidates with additional qualifications in international trade or supply chain management will be highly considered. This educational foundation will underpin your ability to navigate the complex regulatory landscape of international shipping and understand the intricacies of global supply chains.

We seek a seasoned professional with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in a similar role. Your experience should ideally encompass all facets of import/export operations, including customs clearance, documentation, and logistics management within the Logistics (Forwarding / Customs Clearance) industry. A demonstrable track record of success in managing complex shipments, optimizing logistics, and exceeding client expectations is essential. Prior experience in a multinational organization or working in a global context would be a significant advantage.
