About CRSA:
The Center for Remote Sensing Applications (CRSA) is a transversal structure within UM6P that aims to develop methods & tools using multi-source remote sensing data in an approach combining remote sensing, process modeling and field measurements.
The CRSA intends to conduct innovative applied research in the fields of water, agriculture, and soils to solve the problems of monitoring and sustainable management of natural resources, based on scientific collaborations with high-level international universities. It also aims to provide high quality training programs for future African experts in remote sensing.
Job description:
We are looking for a talented and dedicated front-end web developer technician to join our team working on the development, testing, and implementation of a cutting-edge decision support platform that can help farmers to optimize their agricultural practices such as irrigation and fertilization, through modern technologies, in order to improve water use efficiency while gaining crop production. This platform will include models and processes specific to the context and adapted to the needs of the farmer at the field level, based on a synergetic approach that combines remote sensing data, process modeling and AI-based models constrained by physics processes.
This platform called « FIRMA Platform » for Fertilization and Irrigation Management, will be developed as a WEB-GIS and Mobile application. It will be also modular, flexible and interoperable, in such a way to have the ability to add new components and innovative features and services.
Key duties:
The work to be performed will include:
- Create and develop user interfaces, emphasizing data input and output management;
- Implement and integrate GIS functionalities using GIS libraries and APIs to enable the display and interaction with multi-source spatial data layers;
- Ensure that geospatial data is presented effectively for decision-making;
- Generate visual representations of geospatial data, such as graphs and maps, that provide valuable insights to farmers;
- Optimize the platform for various devices and screen sizes using responsive design principles to adapt content to different screen resolutions;
- Conduct rigorous testing to identify and resolve issues in the front-end interface;
- Perform regular maintenance, updates, and continuous improvements to keep the platform running smoothly;
- Document the operation of the platform, including user guides and technical documentation for reference.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic candidate, who should have:
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Web Development, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Front-End Developer, with a focus on creating user-friendly web interfaces.
- Proficiency in front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and relevant frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js).
- Strong knowledge of web design principles and responsive design techniques.
- Familiarity with data visualization libraries and tools.
- Experience in working collaboratively with back-end developers and other team members.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for creating innovative and visually appealing web solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective teamwork with interdisciplinary teams.
