MSN / UM6P is looking for an assistant Engineer in pyrolysis technologies for hydrogen production.

One-year fixed term contract

Job Description

The successful candidate will carry out duties to the highest standard and will:

  • Undertake waste and biomass selection, treatment and characterization within collaborative research and applied projects
  • Conduct experimental studies of pyrolysis of organic materials for the production of value-added products including biochar, bio-oil and syngas mainly hydrogen
  • Help in developing prototypes for biomass and waste upgrading
  • Help at designing and setting up experimental work (pyrolysis) at lab and pilot scale.
  • Collaborates with suppliers, support staff, and other engineers, PhD students to plan and implement experiments related to the project.
  • Set up testing methods, instruments and perform data acquisition related to the project.
  • Write reports and proposal related to the project.
  • Calculate cost and environmental impact of each preparation process developed during the project.
  • Keep a technological watch on emerging technology and materials and competitive by actively attending meetings or conferences, reading current scientific publications, and research reports, books, etc.
  • Communicate to the team the development, progress and results of research activities ensuring that relevant information and issues in the implementation of projects/experiments are captured in as comprehensive and timely manner as possible.
  • Identify areas of improvement within the research structure using integrated management approaches in pursuit of capacity building/strengthening and the preservation of scientific rigor in the project.
  • Support if required, other research projects.
Profile recherché

Candidate PROFILE :

  • Excellent commands in variety of software related physical/chemical/processing/engineering.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent skills and understanding in physics and chemistry of materials
  • Good skills in materials characterization
  • Thorough understanding in pyrolysis systems and technologies.
  • Good skills in waste valorization techniques
  • Have experience with performing experiments at lab scale.
  • Have experience with methods related to thermochemical processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and conducting experiments in waste and biomass valorization and related fields
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.
  • Proven and distinct work experiences in industries and similar topics are highly requested.
  • Proven ability of working with industrial partners to reach their objectives timely.

EDUCATION:

  • Successful candidates must be holder of a Master of Science degree or engineer diploma specialized in physical/chemical engineering and processing.
